The fastest way to book is a phone call. Tom answers when he’s not on the water — if he doesn’t pick up, leave a voicemail and he’ll return it the same day.
Hookz Sportfishing is based in Virginia Beach, VA, and serves anglers across the Hampton Roads region and beyond. Most of our customers travel two to three hours or less to fish with us, including from:
Head West on Shore Drive (US-60). Turn left onto N Great Neck Rd, then right on Michaelwood Drive.
Take I-264 E to Exit 19B for Lynnhaven Pkwy N. Follow to Michaelwood Drive.
Follow NC-168 N / VA-168 N toward Virginia Beach. Take the I-64 Exit toward Norfolk/VA Beach.
A phone call is fastest. Email and the contact form work too, usually within a few hours during business hours.
For peak season (May–September), book as early as you can — popular weekends fill up months out. For off-season trips, a week or two of notice is usually plenty.
We never run a trip when conditions are unsafe. If we have to cancel for weather, you’ll either reschedule for free or get a full refund of any deposit. Captain Tom makes the call the morning of the trip.
Most trips launch between 7:00 and 8:00 AM. We’ll confirm exact time when you book.
Yes. Winter is actually one of our most exciting seasons because of the inshore bluefin tuna run. We also run tautog and striped bass trips on the right days.
Sometimes — if Tom’s free, yes. But trips are usually planned a day or more in advance, especially in summer. Always call first.
We can sometimes accommodate larger groups depending on group size and trip type. Call us and we’ll work it out.
