Most of our customers ask the same first question: “How much, and how many people?” Here’s the answer in one place. All trips run out of our private Lynnhaven River dock and accommodate up to four anglers.
If you’re trying to figure out which trip fits your group and budget, the 3/4 Day Bay Trip ($800) is our most-booked option and gives you the best balance of time on the water and price.

Standard mate tip is 15–20% of the trip price. Mates handle bait, rigging, gaffing, fighting fish with you, and cleaning your catch at the end of the day. They work hard and tips are how they make a living.
To book a trip, call (757) 613-0237 or email hookzsportfishing@gmail.com. We’ll confirm your date, walk you through what to expect, and send a confirmation.
We accept cash, check, and most major credit cards. A deposit may be required for peak-season dates — Captain Tom will let you know when you book.
We ask for as much notice as possible. Last-minute cancellations may forfeit your deposit depending on the date and how far out we are.
We never run a trip when conditions are unsafe. If we have to cancel for weather, you’ll either reschedule for free or get a full refund of any deposit paid. Captain Tom makes the call the morning of the trip based on real-time conditions.
Fishing is fishing — some days are better than others. We don’t refund or reschedule trips because the bite was slow. We’ll do everything in our power to get you on fish, but no captain can guarantee a catch.
Hookz Sportfishing charters range from $400 for a 3-4 hour trip to $1,200 for an 8-hour winter bluefin tuna trip. Most customers book the 3/4 Day Bay Trip at $800 or the Full Day at $1,000.
