Hookz Sportfishing is a Virginia Beach charter run by Captain Tom Zelibor, a lifelong Chesapeake Bay angler and longtime firefighter. We’ve been guiding anglers around the Lynnhaven River, the Chesapeake Bay, and the Virginia Beach oceanfront for five years, and Tom has been fishing these waters most of his life.
Our trips are laid back, but we’ll work our tail off to find fish. We also love to teach. Whether you’ve been fishing for forty years or you’re holding a rod for the first time, we’ll meet you where you are and put you on the bite.
Cobia, bull drum, puppy drum, speckled trout, sheepshead, Spanish mackerel, bluefish, flounder, tautog, and sea bass are all in play depending on the season. Tell us what you’re after and we’ll customize the trip to match the bite.
We offer trips for every angler, from quick four-hour runs to full eight-hour days in the Chesapeake Bay. Most customers prefer the 6-hour or 8-hour trips.

Our dock is 15 minutes from Virginia Beach, 25 minutes from Downtown Norfolk, and 10 minutes from I-264.
Not every water trip involves fishing. We offer two-hour dolphin tours and sunset cruises on the Lynnhaven River and Chesapeake Bay.
2-hour minimum, up to 6 guests, complimentary beer, wine, and soda.
