Southern Cross
300 Suzuki
Our boat is a 25-foot Southern Cross made by Carolina Yachts and is powered by a 300 Suzuki that allows us a cruising speed of around 25 to 30 knots while sitting in our Lebroc helm Captain’s chairs. This boat has a ten-foot beam which makes it a very stable, fishable boat. She also has a modified V to be able to cut through the Bay chop and a Porta bracket to maintain a shallow draft to fish the skinny waters of the Lynnhaven and Rudee inlets.
The boat has a full cobia tower with full controls, that allow us to sight-cast cobia and red drum in the Chesapeake Bay. There is a ton of storage to keep your personal items off the deck and dry. There is an in-deck and transom fish box to keep the fish cold and fresh. The Minn Kota 112-volt trolling motor with spot lock allows us to fish the pilings and wrecks around the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. We have the most updated Garmin electronics with a transducer with side-vu to help spotfish around the boat. On the cold fall and winter days, there are three-piece curtains that help provide shelter from the elements.
